AFTER recently adding an extra brand to its repertoire, Sexie Coffee in Maryborough earned two medals at the Sydney Fine Food Show.

The coffee store has won 10 awards in less than a decade, and was nominated for the Restaurant and Catering Queensland Awards last year.

Sexie Coffee took out a bronze in class expresso, and a silver in the class 3 plunger category at the Sydney show.

The coffee shop has also won awards three years in a row at the largest roasting competition in the Southern Hemisphere, the Equal Golden Bean Competition.

Jason and Karen Barrie launched the company in 2003 which now operates in Bundaberg, Maryborough and online with almost 40 employees.

They added their latest product Bronzed Aussie late last year, which included Australian-grown coffee from north Queensland and Nimbin in New South Wales.

It joined their other products including sexie coffee, sexie water, strip teas, sexie nuts and lubberlie jubberlie drinking chocolate.

Mr Barrie said the online store was particularly strong, with sales from all over Australia.

The website was recently redesigned with increased offers and service for customers.
