Caltex unveils paid parental scheme

PETROL company Caltex has unveiled a new paid parental scheme that outshines some of the most generous in the country.

Parents returning to work after having children are set to gain thousands of dollars in bonuses along with extra subsidies.

Caltex executives say too many of its female employees are not returning to work after they have had children, and that the company has been losing valuable skills and money.

"We want our experienced people to come back. We don't want to lose people," Caltex Australia chair Elizabeth Bryan said.

"We want them to be able to have their children, raise their family and continue to work for Caltex."
