Cancer council asks for theme
GET organised and get your team ready for the Central Highlands Relay For Life on Saturday, August 20, and Sunday, August 21.
This fantastic event, held at Emerald Showgrounds, brings the community together for a night of fun, entertainment, celebration and remembrance.
We would like to invite you to join us by putting together a team, get dressed up in costumes and walk to help the fight against cancer.
With 14 teams already registered, we are looking for more to sign up so get your friends, family or workmates together and come and join us.
One of the most moving parts of Relay is the candlelight ceremony, where candles are lit in memory of loved ones that have lost their fight or in support of someone who is living with cancer.
Brown paper bags are inscribed with personal messages of love, remembrance and hope and give a warm glow to inspire Relay participants as they walk through the night.
This year Cancer Council Queensland is celebrating 50 years of volunteers supporting Queenslanders affected with cancer.
To help celebrate this milestone we are asking teams to base their themes around this, whether it is something from the 1950s or dressing in gold or using violet flowers.

The time is now to start raising money for Relay For Life.
