10.30AM: One person has been killed in a traffic crash at Hatton Vale on the Warrego Hwy.

The crash occurred about 8am near Rustys Oz Fuel service station.

Initial reports were that a car has been crushed between two trucks.

The crash happened at roadworks that have reduced the highway to two lanes for several months.

It appears a truck crashed into a vehicle at the Summerholm Rd junction though the involvement of a third vehicle remain unclear at this time.

The crash caused chaos in the peak hour highway traffic with vehicles backed up for kilometres in both directions.

The highway is completely blocked and diversions for eastbound traffic have been set up via Niemeyer Rd.

No further information is available at this time.
