Carly-Mae's partner Tim Cook said he believed it was fitting that the funeral celebration of Carly-Mae's life be held on the race course which played such an integral role in her life.
"I'm sure Carly-Mae would have wanted it that way. I suppose in some ways Callaghan Park racecourse was like a second home to her," Tim said fighting back tears as he spoke of his beloved Carly-Mae.
It was an achievement at Callaghan Park on April 21, 2012 that Carly-Mae Pye described as "my best riding day ever".
That day she rode a winning treble aboard Tedika; Headhunter and Queen of Happiness.
Tim Cook said following the funeral, a wake would be held on the racecourse at a facility openly offered by the Rockhampton Jockey Club.
It is expected that the funeral of the young woman jockey, 26, who touched the lives of so many will draw a huge turnout of well wishers.
Racing industry stakeholders and administrations from a wide cross section of Queensland and indeed interstate are expected to attend.
Similarly competitors and officials from the Queensland equestrian network are also expected in large numbers.
