Charges laid over meth laboratory
A 37-YEAR-OLD man has been charged in relation to a clandestine drug laboratory suspected of producing methamphetamine that was uncovered in a hotel room on January 13.
The man had been wanted by detectives and was located by the Emerald Criminal Investigation Branch hiding at an Emerald residence on Tuesday, January 17.
The Emerald man was arrested and charged with possession of prohibited combination of items, possession of a thing used in the commission of crime, possession of relevant substances and property used in suspected drug offence.
The drug laboratory was uncovered in a room at the Emerald Gardens Hotel on Harris St.
A 17-year-old female was present at the time of the search and was arrested, charged with possession of prohibited combination of items, possession of a thing used in the commission of crime and property used in suspected drug offence.
The man was remanded in custody and appeared in Emerald Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
The woman is to appear in Biolela Magistrate's Court on February 6.
