Daly Cherry-Evans gives Manly a second bite of the apple

MANLY playmakers Daly Cherry-Evans and Kieran Foran are regarded as future captains of the club, but neither may get the opportunity.

They are among a group of high-quality halves coming off contract at the end of the 2015 NRL season and have both been targeted by several other clubs.

While Foran, reportedly the subject of huge offers from Parramatta, the Warriors and the Bulldogs, has kept his negotiations private, Cherry-Evans has drawn criticism for revealing his recent meetings with the Titans and Sharks.

The 26-year-old (pictured) said he would meet with the Sea Eagles again to give the club one last chance to put forward its best offer.

Manly officials said while they hoped both players would re-sign, a contingency plan was in place.

Rabbitohs premiership halves Adam Reynolds and Luke Keary, and New South Wales Origin reps Trent Hodkinson and James Maloney are also off contract this year.
