THREE men wanted over a violent bag snatch on the Gold Coast last week have been arrested by the Australian Border Force in Sydney as they attempted to leave the country.

The men, all Chilean nationals, are suspected of stealing a 53-year-old woman's handbag outside a Carrara storage facility last Wednesday.

CCTV footage captured the woman being dragged more than 20 metres along the road, as she desperately clung to her handbag, which contained $7000 in cash.

One of the men is alleged to have approached the woman and told her she had a flat tyre, before snatching the bag as she bent down to inspect it.

The three men, aged 17, 22 and 40, were arrested at Sydney airport on Sunday night and were taken into custody by the Australian Federal Police.
