AN ELDERLY man has died after his car crashed into a tree near Chinchilla earlier this week.

The 86-year-old's car was driving along D McIntyre Road in Chinchilla when his car left the road on Monday, hitting a tree.

He was pulled from the wreckage with serious injuries, but police said on Wednesday he "succumbed to his injuries".

Police are now considering whether a medical condition may have contributed to the crash.
