Chopper to rescue for emergencies
THE RACQ-CQ rescue helicopter was needed on Sunday when a station hand was bitten by a snake.
The 19-year-old man was cleaning out a shed at Willesley Station, north-west of Clermont, when a snake bit him on his lower right leg. The man was initially treated by an ambulance before being airlifted in a stable condition, to Mackay Base Hospital for further observation.

The 82-year-old man was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition and underwent treatment upon arrival.
A MIDDLEMOUNT man had to be airlifted to the Mackay Base Hospital on Saturday after suffering from a serious cardiac condition.
The 49-year-old was being transported by road but required the RACQ-CQ rescue helicopter after roads were cut due to heavy rainfall the night before. A paramedic from RACQ-CQ rescue assessed the man before transporting him in a serious yet stable condition to Mackay hospital for further observation and assessment.
