COUNTRY rugby League CEO, Terry Quinn, believes next year's City v Country clash will be a boost for rugby league in the region.

"We are looking forward to working with the local teams in Coffs Harbour and surrounds to ensure this game benefits Rugby League in the area, both financially and through registration numbers, for years to come," Quinn said.

"In recent years, the Mid North Coast population has turned out in droves to watch trials and exhibition matches played and we would like to expect nothing less than a sell out."

Quinn added he's confident the match to be played on Sunday, April 21 at Coffs Harbour's BCU International Stadium will see victory to a Country team boosted by a vocal Mid North Coast crowd.

The long standing CEO said the decision to have the match return to Coffs Harbour for the first time since 2007 wasn't a difficult one.

"Country Rugby League would like to recognise the efforts of Coffs Harbour City Council in their application to host the event, and thank them for their hard work towards what will be a wonderful week," he said.

Both the City and Country teams will take part in promotions and events on the Coffs Coast throughout the week with plenty of opportunities for locals to mix with their Rugby League heroes.3

Coffs Harbour City Council General Manager Steve McGrath said being given the rights to host the match is a boost for the local rugby league fraternity.

"I am sure that the Coffs Harbour community will welcome the Country v City match back to the Coffs Coast with open arms," Mr McGrath said.

"The opportunity to showcase some of the best rugby league talent in NSW here in Coffs Harbour will be a big plus for the rugby league faithful and the Coffs Harbour community generally."

Tickets are anticipated to go on sale early season 2013, and details will be provided once they are known.
