Council invites residents to view plan

CLERMONT’S Urban Design Master Plan is beginning to take shape and design options are on display for public comment.

Concentrating on the development of the Hoods Lagoon, the Town Entrance Precinct and the Capella St Precinct, the community is invited to make comment on the designs.

Division 6 Councillor Rob Williams, chair of the Clermont Preferred Futures Implementation Committee, said this was an important step forward for Clermont.

“Council has committed a significant budget to developing Clermont in a way that reflects our community’s values, our needs now and into the future,” he said.

“The designs are faithful to the direction of the Clermont Urban Design Master Plan.

“This document, which was funded by Rio Tinto’s Clermont Community Development Fund, has been crucial to understanding the best way to manage Clermont’s key community assets.”

Community members can view the options at 44 Capella St until Monday, August 15.
