Clive offers help to sacked staff

CLIVE Palmer has appointed Mission Australia to administer a public sector support program for sacked State Government workers.

To be funded by Mr Palmer's recently established Hope Fund, the initiative to provide referral and support services is available for all displaced workers of all unions.

Mr Palmer said Mission Australia would draw on its significant experience in helping people who have lost their jobs re-enter the workforce.

"This new program is about helping people to connect with the appropriate support services, employment agencies and the business sector so they can identify new job opportunities," Mr Palmer said.

Mission Australia is one of the largest community and employment service providers, with offices across Queensland.
