Close call for grey nomad

A 74-YEAR-OLD Victorian male cheated death on Monday when his caravan and Toyota LandCruiser collided with a road train near Theresa Creek on the Gregory Hwy just minutes from arriving in Emerald.

Central Region Traffic Inspector Virginia Nelson urged travellers to be extra vigilant over the notorious grey nomad tourist season and upcoming school holidays.

There have been four horrific crashes on Central Queensland roads within a week - one on Friday caused the death of a teenage girl.
