Man, 26, charged with rape, deprivation of liberty

UPDATE: Sunshine Coast detectives investigating the alleged sexual assault of a woman at Beerwah on August 5 have this afternoon charged a man with seven offences.

A 26-year-old Wamuran man has been charged with one count each of enter dwelling with intent whilst armed, deprivation of liberty, rape and threatening violence as well as drug and weapon offences.

He was denied police bail and remanded in custody to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Thursday. 

EARLIER: A 26-year-old man is speaking with police as they investigate an alleged sexual assault at Beerwah from earlier this month.

Police on Tuesday released the image of a man who they wanted to speak with in relation to an alleged attack at a Beerwah home on August 5.

The man voluntarily attended Caloundra police station on Wednesday.

EARLIER: Police investigating the sexual assault of a woman in Beerwah earlier this month have released a picture of a man who may be able to assist with their investigations.

Detectives from the Caloundra Criminal Investigation Branch are seeking public assistance to locate a man in relation to enter premises, rape and deprivation of liberty offences that occurred on August 5 at a Beerwah residence.

It is alleged he has made further threats towards the victim and was last seen in the Glasshouse Mountains area about 4pm on August 10.
