Coke snorting Huegills released on good behaviour bonds

SWIMMING legend Geoff Huegill and his wife have been released on good behaviour bonds over a cocaine-fuelled day at the races in Sydney.

The former Olympian and his publicist wife Sarah Hill were discovered with the drug at the Randwick Racecourse last month.

The Waverley Local Court heard a security guard had seen Huegill put something suspicious in his pocket on his way from a bathroom and when confronted, the pair admitted to each having a bag of cocaine in their possession.

Magistrate Clare Farnan said she lectured young people every day about the dangers of using drugs and found it "disturbing" that a role model would take the risk.

Outside court, the couple fronted the media to once again apologise for their behaviour.

Describing the past few weeks as ""stressful", Huegill said he and his wife did not look forward to one day having to explain the incident to their young daughters but hoped they would eventually earn back the trust of their supporters.
