Community garden seeks support from budding green thumbs

GREEN thumbs and willing helpers with watering cans are needed at the Emerald Community Garden.

Thanks to many hours of hard work by volunteers Sue Baguley and Claire and Blake Rowley, the garden full of fruits, vegetables and herbs is starting to grow.

Sue said they needed willing helpers who could go on a roster system to water and weed the garden, or grow seedlings to plant.

Sue encouraged schools, families and anyone with a few minutes each week or month to help with the garden to phone her on 0437 866 654 or Claire on 0447 081 992.

There is also a meet and greet from 9am on Saturday, March 23, at the garden which is behind the Emerald Library.
