PART of Bundaberg's restaurant precinct was cordoned off early in the early hours of October 23 as police investigated reports of a sexual assault.

"They were investigating an allegation but, on further investigation, there was no offence to investigate," Bundaberg police Sergeant Michael Prickett said.

Officers were called to the scene, near the corner of Targo and Woongarra Sts, about 1am and stayed for up to four hours.
