THE DATE has been set for Kiah Fewquandie-Woodall and Atang Hangsingh to prove their love to Australian authorities.

The couple will on August 29 face the Migration Review Tribunal, which will determine whether Atang can apply for a partner's visa or if he is to be sent back to India.

The young lovers have to convince authorities their relationship is genuine, if they are to have a future together in Australia.

Indian national Atang was living and studying in Brisbane when he met Kiah, from Rockhampton, in 2009.

Their attraction was immediate and they fell in love. Atang applied for permanent residency but last year was told the application had been rejected.

He was told he had a week to leave the country or two weeks to apply for a review.

He chose the latter and ever since the couple has been collecting information that will help validate their relationship.

Kiah even turned to Facebook, urging people to share posts.

"If you are willing, we would love to see some comments sharing memories of the two of us, or your view on the legitimacy of our relationship," she wrote.

"I will be taking a print out of this page as a testimony to the abundance of support behind us.

"We are on the home stretch now."

Kiah says if Atang is sent back, she will go with him.
