Couple share the love in epic golfing victory
GOLF: Impressive Sunshine Coast golfer Charlie Dann has added yet another title to his trophy cabinet, this time with girlfriend Milli Stuurop by his side.
The pair won the Pelican Waters mixed foursomes at the weekend, giving Dann his third championship - and honour board event - at the club within the past two months.
He had previously won the club championship and match play title.
Playing off plus three, Dann and Stuurop (six) returned a seven-over 79 during the first 18 holes of the mixed foursomes before scorching home with a one-under 71 in the afternoon. Jackson Hopkins and Karen Furlong were runners-up.
While Dann's form is a continuation of an outstanding year, Stuurop has also been a revelation.
Following a three-year break from the game because of a shoulder injury, she did not resume playing until March.
Dann's other major wins in 2015 have been at the Sunshine Coast Men's Open amateur golf championship at Headland Golf Club over the Easter weekend and the prestigious Queensland State Amateur Burleigh Cup, at Burleigh Heads, in May.
The 22-year-old also shot a blistering six-under 64 at Virginia Club last month to qualify for his first Queensland Open.
