Court action heating up

SIX teams are now through to the Emerald netball grand finals after securing their berths with wins in the major semi-finals this week.

In the junior matches on Monday night, Cougars won their way through after scoring a 23-13 victory over minor premiers Freckles in the Intermediate division. Freckles will now play Bullets in next week's preliminary final, after Bullets defeated Hurricanes 15-6 in the minor semi.

In Cadet B, Demons confirmed their grand final berth with a hard-fought 19-15 win over minor premiers Frogs. Frogs will face Ninjas to decide the other grand finalist after Ninjas defeated a depleted Go-Gettas side 38-6 in the knockout game.

Boltz defeated Kougars 38-31, while Friction downed Untouchables 42-39. Following Tuesday night's senior semis, Division 1 minor premiers Cylones are through to the grand final after defeating Red Hot 42-33. Red Hot now faces the much-improved Meerkats in next Tuesday's preliminary final after Meerkats accounted for Phoenix 46-34 in the minor semi.

The Others secured their spot in the Division 2 grand final by the narrowest of margins with a 33-32 win over Benchwarmers. Benchwarmers will now play C Boms, who defeated CQ News 39-12.

Division 3 minor premiers Hot Shots took out the major semi with a 45-41 win over Cookies and Cream while Zoomers defeated The Units 25-13 in the minor semi. Cookies and Cream and Zoomers now contest the knockout final to decide who will play Hot Shots in the season finale.
