CQ man accused of attempted murder

BREAKING: Police have charged a 28-year-old man with attempted murder following an alleged incident at Sarina this morning in which a 22-year-old Louise Creek man was stabbed several times.

It is alleged around 3am, the 22-year-old was out the back of an Edmunds Ave residence when he was approached by another man before a physical argument broke out.

During the altercation the man sustained several stab wounds to his upper body before a nearby person separated the pair, and the other man allegedly fled.

The injured man was transported to Mackay Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 28-year-old is due to appear before the Mackay Magistrates Court today.

Both men are known to each other.
