Crikey! Bindi turns 17 and wants you to join in the party

BINDI Irwin is set to escape the Australian winter for a day and step out into her Birthday 'Luau' party at Australia Zoo.

Leave the winter woollies at home and grab your island gear because the zoo will be turning into an action packed, island playground adventure!

Australia Zoo is throwing Bindi a huge 17th Birthday Luau on July 24 with Heilani Polynesian Dancers, Hula Dancing workshops and even a chance to try your hand at surfing with the team from Coolum Surf School.

Guests are invited to dress up in their favourite 'Island Luau' attire and enter our Fashion Parade for the chance to win some awesome prizes.

Face-painters will be available until 11am, eager to transform your face into a colourful work of art.

Australia Zoo will open doors early on Bindi's birthday, with ukulele players set to give you a warm, tropical welcome from 8am with kids 14 and under free.
