Shot fired through front room window in North Mackay

UPDATE: Police said two residents were at home at the time of this morning's shooting.

Mackay police detective inspector Nikki Colfs said witnesses were at Mackay police station being interviewed with police.

"One shot was fired through the front glass window," she said.

"At this stage witnesses have informed us that a silver Commodore, a 2010 model was actually seen in the vicinity when the firearm was discharged."

EARLIER: Police are speaking to residents on Harrington St, North Mackay after a drive by shooting about 7.30am.

Residents were home at the time of the shooting and at least one shot fired made it into the home, but no one was injured.

No one has been arrested.

The street has been cordoned off.
