Crows claw back to make first women's grand final

AFL: Adelaide is off to the first ever AFL Women's Grand Final with a 24-point comeback win over Collingwood.

The Crows trailed by seven points at three-quarter time in a tight-fought contest at Olympic Park, but it was stars Erin Phillips - daughter of a former Pie in Greg, no less - and Sarah Perkins that led their side to a trip to Brisbane to play the Lions next Saturday.

"Not pretty bad for a team that wasn't going to be up there, is it?," Perkins said on Fox Footy immediately after the win.

"I can't explain (my emotions) to be honest. I had a pretty tough journey to get here but I can't thank Bec Goddard and these Crows enough for showing the faith and letting me show what I've got."

As far as Melbourne was concerned, Collingwood had one job - beat the Crows and get their neighbours into the Grand Final.

But they couldn't hang on, the surging Crows withstanding the heat - both literally and figuratively - to regain second place on the ladder and win their berth.

Perkins, who was overlooked by all Victorian teams on AFL Women's draft day last year, booted 4.3 to lift the side before Phillips polished off another two to seal victory.

"We are very lucky to have her - big games, big player," Perkins said of her teammate.

"It's pretty amazing."
