Culture, sports in spotlight at free Emerald workshops

THE Cultural Awareness Training and Central Highlands Sports Forum workshops are being held this weekend.

The Central Highlands council is holding the free workshops from Friday to Sunday for private and not-for-profit organisations.

Presenter Leisa Donlan will be speaking at the sports forum, covering topics such as excellent club committees, volunteer management and using social media.

Donlan has a Bachelor of Applied Science and is a Fellow of the Australian Society of Association Executives with 15 years' experience in the non-profit sector.

For the past 20 years Donlan has been involved in volunteer roles for more than 110 different committees and non-profit organisations.

Using her experience, Donlan has presented to clubs and their committees from sports clubs to community groups, industry, indigenous communities and governments for the past eight years.

Also presenting workshops this weekend is Dennis Long, from the Queensland Branch of Sports Medicine Australia, and Chris Weier, from Fitnance Australia.
