A CURRENT Affair reporters and camera crews are known for their ambush tactics when chasing down unwilling subjects.

But journalist Tim Arvier gets more than he bargained for in tonight's show.

When Arvier and his camera crew confronted Gold Coast "pastor" Stephen Jones, who has allegedly swindled millions of dollars in life savings and charitable donations from families, the man got out of his car and chased the reporter down the street.

Footage released by Channel Nine shows a clearly agitated Jones chasing Arvier into the street in front of oncoming traffic and attempting to kick him.

Tonight's show is expected to show more footage of the incident, which Nine is calling an "attack", in which Jones allegedly throws a coffee table at the crew.

A Current Affair airs tonight at 7pm on Channel 9/WIN.
