HOLIDAY-MAKERS flocked to Leslie Dam near Warwick, in Southeast Queensland, at the weekend to soak up the perfect Easter weather, filling the Washpool Reserve campsite to capacity.

The reserve's Joann Guy said they had been inundated with visitors and the only problem was there was no room to hide the Easter eggs.

Glorious sunshine and warm temperatures at the weekend lifted campers' spirits after the wet Christmas holidays.

Mrs Guy said the fish were also biting, with many catching cod.

“People are just loving the facilities,” she said.

“We've had our returning visitors but lots of new ones too.

“They're saying it's a beautiful spot.”

Both day visitors and campers took advantage of the dam being so full.

“The water's right there, so kids can play in it close to their camps,” Mrs Guy said.

“The weather has made such a difference.”

An Anzac Day frost was looking unlikely as the Daily News went to print last night, with Weatherzone predicting a low of 13 degrees overnight.

Today should be mostly sunny with a top temperature of 23 degrees although there is a chance of rain tomorrow and Wednesday.

Maximum temperatures look set to start dropping as the week progresses from 23 degrees to 20 on Wednesday and Thursday.

The weekend is predicted to be even chillier, possibly dropping to 9 degrees on Saturday.
