Dancer steps up in charity pageant
BRITT Goodwin may have missed out on the Miss World Australia national finals later this year, but the Sunshine Coast beauty is not too worried.
For a start, she spent her weekend strutting down the catwalk with 16 of Queensland's most gorgeous girls at Oaks Oasis Caloundra.
It hosted the Miss World Australia pageant's state finals, where 17 girls modelled cocktail dresses, beach attire and evening wear gowns in front of five judges.
Miss Goodwin, who had been asked by the organisers to enter, said it had been a good experience.
"The Coast needs more of this performance aspect," the 22-year-old dancer said.
Event organiser Nadasha Zhang said the competition was a great chance for girls to help charities.
The entrants had to spend the two months leading up to the event fundraising for the organisation's children's charity, Variety.
Just over $70,000 was raised.
