Dangerous ride ends in arrests for five teens
FIVE teens allegedly stole a car and drove it dangerously around Townsville yesterday.
Police say the car was stolen during a break and enter around 4:45am from a Kroymans Driver, Mount Louisa address.
Police caught the vehicle with a tyre deflation device around midday on McHardle Street at Pimilico. The vehicle was then located a short distance away and five people were then arrested.
A 16 year-old girl from Heatley has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, receiving tainted property, unlicenced driving and failing to comply with duties of a driver after a crash. The girl has also been charged with two counts of dangerous driving and four counts of failing to stop a vehicle.
A 15 year-old girl from Gulliver has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
A 16 year-old boy from Mundingburra has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
A 17 year-old man from Rasmussen has been charged with one count of attempted robbery and two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and will appear today in the Townsville Magistrates Court.
An 18-year-old woman from West End is assisting police with their enquiries.
The juveniles will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
