DARTS: Leading English darts player Eric Bristow has caused outrage on social media after he posted comments relating to the child abuse scandal that has rocked English football.

According to the Professional Footballers' Association, more than 20 former footballers have alleged they were victims of child abuse as junior players, with police now investigating the allegations.

Bristsow, 59, a five-time world champion, wrote on Twitter: "Might be a looney (sic) but if some football coach was touching me when I was a kid as I got older I would have went back and sorted that p**f out”, before adding "dart players tough guys footballers wimps”.

Brian Moore, the former England rugby hooker who himself was abused as a child, responded with: "I'm not even going to address the many reasons (why) these tweets are wrong. I'll just say ignorance is no excuse for this idiocy.”
