Deluxe cruise dinner offering close-up view of navy fleet

A SPECTACULAR armada to rival the 1988 Australian Bicentenary will fill Sydney Harbour on Saturday, October 5, this year, with 53 naval vessels and tall ships from around the world celebrating the Royal Australian Navy's Centennial Fleet Review.

The spectacle involving 35 naval vessels from Australia and overseas and 18 tall-masted ships is being held to mark the centenary of the Australian Navy's first fleet arrival in Sydney Harbour in October, 1913.

A day of harbour parades, plane and helicopter fly-pasts and amazing aerobatic displays will culminate with a spectacular fireworks and light show over the gathered ships of all sizes.

Cruise Express has chartered the deluxe harbour vessel, Sydney Glass Island, which offers 360-degree water views for a special, all-inclusive, four-hour dinner cruise.

Guests will have a bird's-eye view of the visiting ships and the evening fireworks.

The cruise leaves from King St Wharf in Darling Harbour about 6pm.

The deal is available for $199 per person including a three-course dinner and drinks.

For guests from out of town, an accommodation package is also available from Cruise Express offering two nights' accommodation at the Grace Hotel in Sydney on Friday, October 4, and Saturday, October 5, for $475 per room (single or twin- share).

The accommodation deal is in addition to the dinner cruise fare.

Bookings are available via the Events page at cruiseexpress.com.au.
