Students buzzing from Origin visit

DENISON State School physical education teacher Leigh Lawrence said the smiles on the kids faces said it all about Wednesday’s State of Origin visit to Emerald.

She said the excitement was still plastered on the faces of staff and students yesterday as they expressed their joy and shared stories of the special visit with friends.

“The students were super excited to be able to get up close and personal with their footy heroes and felt it a special treat to have the opportunity to have photos taken and autographs signed on personal items,” Ms Lawrence said.

“It was the hot topic in the playground and students were keen to share and compare.

“The students said it was great that you can live in the country and still have the chance to see a once-in-a-lifetime awesome event.

“We thank them from the bottom of our hearts.”
