2015 Kia Carnival launch ensures design overhaul complete

WHO said people-movers weren't stylish?

Peter Schreyer, the man now in charge of Kia design who once penned the Audi TT, has overseen a complete brand transformation with the Carnival about to arrive.

Officially launched next month, the Carnival will be available with a choice of a V6 petrol or four-cylinder diesel engines partnered to a six-speed automatic across three specification grades.

Styling cues have seemingly been swapped between Honda and Kia with their latest generation models.

While Honda turned more traditional people mover with its latest generation Odyssey, which stole market leadership from the Carnival last year, Kia has given its hauler a more car-like appearance.

Kia says the front looks more akin to a sports utility vehicle.

Eight seats will remain in the Carnival, but the boot is larger. The seating flexibility has also been maintained with the rear pew able to be folded away when not required.

Oh, and it's no longer called the "Grand Carnival" - just Carnival will do fine.
