DestinationQ Forum heads to the Gold Coast in 2013

HUNDREDS from Queensland's tourism industry will be bound for the Gold Coast later this year, with the DestinationQ Forum flying almost 2000km from its inaugural home in Cairns.

Following its premiere in June last year, the location is not the only change.

It will this year be held two months later on August 27 and 28 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Premier Campbell Newman and Tourism Minister Jann Stuckey announced the new dates and venue on Tuesday, describing the forum's first year as a "landmark event".

"The first DestinationQ Forum was about creating a partnership agreement and a strategy to get tourism back on track," Mr Newman said.

More than 300 attended the Cairns event in 2012.
