Mum-to-be mauled in dogfight

A WOMAN, believed to be pregnant, was mauled after she found herself in the middle of a dogfight late yesterday.

Emergency services rushed to Waterfall Road in Nambour after reports the woman had been seriously injured in an incident about 5.30pm.

Her injuries were believed to be to her forearm.

Two dogs were expected to be handed over to Sunshine Coast council officers today as an investigation into the incident takes place.

Police told the Daily late yesterday the woman was bitten after she attempted to separate the dogs which were fighting.

A Department of Community Safety spokeswoman later said the woman’s injuries were minor.

She had been taken to hospital as a precaution.

A Nambour General Hospital spokesman said the woman was in a stable condition last night.

He would not confirm whether she was pregnant.
