ANOTHER award for top golfer Luke Donald.

He's been named player of the year by the Golf Writers Association of America.

Donald polled 88 per cent of the vote, after becoming the first man to top of the money list on both the European and US PGA Tours in the same year.

He won four titles, finished in the top ten 14 times in 19 events, and finished 2011 with the number one world ranking.

Yani Tseng and Tom Lehman claimed the women's and senior's prizes respectively.
