Dope haul seized by police

MORE than 100 marijuana plants were seized at a Ballandean property last week, resulting in a man being charged with a number of drug related offences.

Stanthorpe Police Constable Michael Banasiak said drugs were found after Stanthorpe police, the Criminal Investigations Unit and Wallangarra police executed a search warrant at the property last Thursday.

"The majority of the plants were potted, and were located in three separate locations close to the offender's dwelling," Const Banasiak said.

"We found approximately 120 seedlings, between 30cm to one metre high."

He said the 32-year-old was charged with producing and possession of dangerous drugs, possession of an illegal utensil and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The man was issued with a notice to appear in January in the Stanthorpe Magistrates Court.
