Dreamworld: What guests and staff need to know now

DREAMWORLD'S CEO has promised they are doing everything they can to support customer, park guests, and staff while the park is closed.

"Our hearts and thoughts are still with the families affected by this tragedy. We are continuing to co-operate with the authorities throughout the ongoing investigation," CEO Craig Davidson said in a statement. 

The statement from Dreamworld promised no guest or customer would be out of pocket as a result of the closure. 

All pre-purchased tickets, including 1, 2, 3, 7, and 21-day ticket, will be refunded if they have validity remaining.

Those who hold season passes can either have them extended or refunded pro-rata. 

Dreamworld's statement said it was currently taking customer details and taking people through the refund process.

The park itself will not be fully staffed during the closure but all employees, including casual staff, will be paid while the park is closed.  

From next week management plans on a gradual process to bring staff back to work at the park if they wish to return but the release says it is not mandatory. 

Not-for-profit GIVIT has opened an official fund for the families and community members directly affected by Tuesday's tragedy.

100% of donations to the fund will be going to those affected.

"I would like to thank GIVIT, Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate, and The Australian Red Cross for coordinating the Fund and am hopeful the media might be able to assist in promoting awareness of the Fund," Mr Davidson said.
