UPDATE 10AM: Traffic is flowing freely again on the Sunshine Motorway at Mooloolaba following an earlier crash involving a bus and a four-wheel-drive.
About 8am a four-wheel-drive collided with a public bus in the eastbound lane just near Brisbane Rd.
Firefighters were called to assist the four-wheel-driver motorist in his 50s, who was encapsulated in the vehicle.
No bus passengers or the bus driver were hurt.
Traffic banked up during peak hour this morning, while emergency services and Clayton's Towing worked to clear the scene.
UPDATE 8.35AM: Police have reopened one lane of the Sunshine Motorway at Mooloolaba following an earlier crash this morning.
One of the eastbound lanes is now open heading towards Mooloolaba. Traffic was being diverted on to Kawana Way after a four-wheel-drive collided with a bus about 8am.
Motorists have been advised to drive with caution.
EARLIER: Motorists have been urged to drive with caution on their run to work and school this morning after two peak hour crashed on the Sunshine Motorway at Mooloolaba.
About 7.45am a car collided with a guard rail in the westbound lane at the Mountain Creek exit. He is being attended to by paramedics with suspected back pain.
Minutes later, a four-wheel-drive collided with a public bus in the eastbound lane just near Brisbane Rd.
Emergency services are on the scene attending to the four-wheel-drive driver, who is encapsulated in their vehicle.
All five passengers and the bus driver are believed to be uninjured.
The eastbound lanes of the Sunshine Motorway is building with traffic and police have been called in for traffic control.
Access to Mooloolaba is currently blocked.
Motorists have been urged to drive with caution in the wet weather.
