Witnesses watch as driver and boy flee crash

WITNESSES were left bewildered yesterday when a driver and a young boy crawled out of an overturned four-wheel-drive and fled from the scene.

The good Samaritans who stopped to offer help after the car crashed into a ditch on Kawana Way watched as the man and a boy, aged about six, left the crash.

The Landrover came off the road at an eastbound off-ramp towards the Sunshine Mwy about 4pm and crashed on to its roof.

Police made their way to Kawana Way to search for the pair, who were last seen walking back towards Kawana Way.

Officers were hunting for a man with sandy blond hair wearing boardshorts and a boy believed to be wearing a Chancellor State College uniform.
