Drones capture sharks chasing mullet metres from shore

THIS drone footage of what are thought to be Grey Nurse Sharks feeding on a school of mullet was shot at Port Stephens - just north of Newcastle - over the Easter break.

It's understood the beach in question was closed as the water began to boil and the fins started to breach.

However the sharks caught by the drone are largely harmless.

That said with schools of mullet like this common along many stretches of Australia's east coast throughout the colder months, it's another good reminder to beware of your surrounds before entering the ocean.
