Earthlings, it's time for a laugh

YOU cannot accuse first-time Buderim author Nina van der Plas of cotton balling her words.

All Women are Bitches and all Men are Bastards, a tale of the relationships between men and women and why we are all more alike than not, has hit international bookshelves.

Ms van der Plas, who wrote the eye-catching book in only a month, said it offered a lifetime of help, advice and laughs.

“The title definitely gets people talking,” Ms van der Plas said.

“It's not a big book, I wrote it with the idea in mind that it would be a quick and easy read, give you a chuckle and let you know that you're not alone.

“Forget Venus and Mars, we're all Earthlings.”

Ms van der Plas, who has worked in the health and fitness industry for 13 years, said her career has been motivated by helping people.

She said the book offered readers the chance to have a bit of a laugh at themselves and the things they did to make life more difficult.

“Too many people out there think we're are different when in fact we're so similar,” Ms van der Plas said.

“Other than anatomical difference, the only thing we do differently is communication.

“A man is logical and a woman is very feelings based. That's why we don't get each other, because we're not communicating in the same language and by getting frustrated in that we miss the point.”
