Eels coach tells players to keep a lid on aggression

PARRAMATTA coach Brad Arthur hopes emotions won't get the better of his team when it faces North Queensland in Saturday night's semi-final.

Aiming to win their first premiership since 1986, the Eels will contest their first final in Sydney in eight years when they host the Cowboys at ANZ Stadium.

Arthur conceded his players failed to remain calm under pressure during last Saturday's qualifying final loss to Melbourne, giving up six second-half penalties to let a half-time lead slip.

"I thought our energy and intensity was great but sometimes maybe the emotion and the occasion got the better of us," Arthur said.

"We lacked a little bit of control at times with our aggression. Really, we paid the price of it.

"We've talked about it, we've addressed it but now we've got to do something about it."

Arthur was adamant history meant little to his side, however - with no thought of the premiership drought the club is experiencing.

"Honestly it's not a priority for them," Arthur said.

"No disrespect but the boys don't even know half of that information (regarding club history).

"The priority is that it's a do-or-die game - it could be Semi (Radradra's) last game - so we've got to prepare the best we can."

Winger Radradra leaves for Toulon after this season.

It has been revealed, meanwhile, Radradra has received exemption to wear a wedding ring during games because the giant Fijian can't budge the band off his finger.

Radradra suffered seven finger dislocations in one game earlier this year, before getting married to Vika Fifita last month.

He has now scored nine tries in the last four games wearing the ring he can no longer physically remove, which has been hidden beneath layers of strapping.
