Emerald chemist bring out prescription app

WE use our smart phones for shopping, social networking, communicating, and now we can pick up our scripts.

Direct Chemist Outlet Emerald has been selected as one of the few pharmacies in Australia to roll out the new eRx app for customers to order scripts online, making it easier to manage their medicines.

Pharmacist Jess Burrey said they were excited to get the app and have been busy showing customers how to use it.

"People are using their mobile apps for every aspect of their lives, from baking, checking the weather... now they can connect with us," she said.

"Ultimately we expect this to mean shorter waiting times for our customers, and that's a real positive."

You simply scan your script, submit it, and select a time you'd like to pick it up. The app is the first national electronic prescriptions exchange.
