Milky Bars could be on cowgirl Ella

THE Milkybars could be on Ella D’Souza.

The eight-year-old Stella Maris Primary School pupil could not resist donning a cowgirl hat to be in the running for the new 2011 Milky Bar Kid commercial.

After weeks of practising the famous line “the Milkybars are on me” and lassoing the bad guy in a short recording, she is now eager to make the top 15 and travel to Sydney for a casting call.

It has been several years since the badge of the Milkybar Kid has been worn, so there are some very big boots to fill.

After 50 years of young stars taking on the role, Ella thinks it is about time a girl took up the challenge.

“Girls make better cowgirls,” Ella said. “I think I did a good job and could make it.”

Ella was keen to strap on a pair of boots as she enjoys watching the commercial daily in between her favourite shows and loves the taste of a Milkybar.

If Ella is successful at the casting call and nominated in the top 10 the public will then decide who will hold the Milkybar.

Her mum, Melissa, said she was proud of Ella’s audition efforts, especially since she prepared it on her own.

“All I had to do was hold the camera and she did the rest,” Melissa said.
