Cowboys riding tall over the Men

EMERALD Cowboys have firmed their finals chances after a 52-18 win over Springsure Mountain Men.

Cowboys president Damon Walsh said a slight tweak to playing positions paid off well for the competition finalists.

“We made a few position changes on the weekend which seemed to work well,” he said.

“Brandon Kadel was getting plenty of ball and doing plenty of damage along with Aaron Firth.”

Both speedsters picked up two tries each for their club.

“Todd Williams and Aisea Tavo did everything asked of them in defence and attack,” he said.

“Springsure were a better side than the scored showed but it all came together for us on the weekend.”

The Cowboys now meet Middlemount in tomorrow night’s finals in Tieri.
