Police investigate bakery theft
EMERALD is not suffering from an armed robbery epidemic, officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Graeme Reeves said.
The reassurance comes after the Fairbairn Bakery on Hospital Rd reported an alleged armed robbery on Thursday.
An employee told police a man had entered the store and demanded money, making off with $450.
Police made investigations and as a result the employee was charged with stealing as a servant.
“The previous armed robbery last week was a one-off,” he said. “Though police still want to reinforce to business owners to take all precautions in securing their businesses.”
