Emerald Rams are focused on the final

Coaches' names: Zak Nichols, Cameron Heath, Sam Thomasson.

Position on CHRU ladder: Number 1 - Minor Premiers 2016!

Highest point scorer of season: Darryl McPherson - last count was up to 13 tries.

Best game of season: Ladies' Day against Capella would be our best performance of the year. An all-round performance with good defence and attack.

Biggest improvement made by the team this season: The adaptability of our players. A lot of players have had to play in unfamiliar positions and have always done themselves and the team proud.

Team motto: The closest we have to one is "our field”. Parker Ormond started saying this a couple of seasons ago and the fellas bought into it. It's just about trying to make each game we play, wherever it is, our game.

Thoughts/feelings on making grand final: The Rams are excited to be part of the final this year. It is the game that all teams strive to be a part of at the beginning of each year. But it's also important to put in a good showing on the day to not undo all the hard work done during the season.

Elements of the team you are most proud of: Our defence, the willingness of our players to keep fronting up and protecting our line.

What are three highlights from the season: The final regular season game against Clermont in Clermont - to come back from 21-8 down at half-time to secure the win 23-21, that's the kind of determination we pride ourselves on; winning the minor premiership; and last but not least, any post-game entertainment from Ben James.

What players to look for in the grand final: We have a terrific squad with players able to contribute across the board. But a few players deserving special mention would be Chris Rhoden, Mitch Smith and Sam Thomasson in the forwards - they are our rocks. In the backs I expect the likes of Darryl Mcpherson and Tyrone Pritchard to make a big impact on the game.

End result prediction: Anything can happen on Grand Final day, but obviously backing the Rams.

Anyone to thank: Yes, we have a huge list to thank - our sponsors Emerald Ford, Ken's Plumbing, The Irish Village, DGH Engineering, Maraboon Vet Surgery, GT Hoses, Mayfair Discount Chemist, Child's Tyre Service, Tracey Taylor Physiotherapy, Genesis Hair Designs, Rio Tinto and Red Door Catering; our helpers - Meredith Carter and her gang of helpers that make each home game run smoothly; and, of course, all our supporters, family and friends that front up each week to cheer us on and lend a hand.
