Emerald young gun qualifies for world titles

EMERALD barefoot waterskiing young gun Nikolas Bray has qualified for the under-17 world titles.

His performance at the national championships held in Sydney over the Easter weekend qualified him for the Australian junior barefoot team, which will take just six competitors to the world titles in Wisconsin, America in August.

For Nikolas, who has been skiing since he was three, the achievement comes off the back of an incredible 2015, which saw the teenager win the Queensland boy titles and senior boy Australian titles.

"It's an honour to get the chance to ski alongside the other competitors and represent Australia," Nikolas said.

"I'm looking forward to getting out there and competing."

To help fund Nikolas' trip to America his family have established a GoFundMe page.
